Week 1, WELCOME!
Hello,
This is my first weekly blog about my musical practice, hopefully the first of many! This one will be a little different to the rest, given it is the first one.
I am hoping for this small weekly post to give an inside view into what working as a music student and amateur musician is like. In this blog I am mostly going to talk about my current practice, i.e. what I am working on both as part of my academic and personal careers, and sometimes how they are very close together, However I may occasionally discuss some of my favourite works by other artists where appropriate.
So… without further a due, what have I been working on?
Well, I have several musical projects on the go, two of these are for University submission and two are projects I am working on for my own practice. The biggest piece I am working on is a 15-minute musical journey in which I am exploring musical timbres as a piece for some university work however it will likely be included with some instrumental work I hope to publish. For my course I am also working with a friend to produce a couple of pieces of music in an indie soundtrack style.
Along with my academic work I am also in the works of re-recording some old work to a better quality which I will release as now I have set up a small recording studio in my home which at some point in the near future, will definitely to a little post about. I am working on a short collection of folk songs for fiddle.
As for all of this work, I may post a few little snippets and previews on this blog as and when it gets to a point at which I feel it ca be shared.
